Replacement CPU/Mobo

Yeah tried that, tried cmos reset.
I don't get anything on screen at all, system it turns off within a few seconds.
I'd just like to know what's dead, cpu or mobo.
Only way to know seems to be to buy a 1150 mobo or cpu :rolleyes:

It doesn't matter too much as new ryzen mobo and cpu will arrive soon but I hate not knowing what failed as i can't sell or use any of it.
 
Astonishingly, I decided to try the power button bios reset one more time (power off - power on holding button til it cycles off again - power on).

I've done this ~15 times to no avail (in amongst various other things).
16th time exactly the same? Booted into BIOS recovery.
Recovered the Main BIOS from backup.
Used q-flash to flash the BIOS to the latest version.
Seems to be working again.
Wish I knew why the first 15 times didn't work.
Have also made a freeDOS USB to test if it happens again.
Enormous thanks for all the help. I may pull the trigger on the upgrades anyway if the problem repeats itself.

I hate throwing stuff out unless it's clearly toasted
Haven't got a 1150 cpu you could test with
You tried members market?
Perhaps someone would lend you a cpu
Even if it's like pay for it then get money back once you return it

Persistence pays off :)
Must admit although I like my x570 aorus ultra bios has been a total pita compared to my previous Asus board

Yeah I was thinking along those lines if someone could help me out. I did a post in general hardware to get advice
