Replacement drive recommendations

I currently have a Samsung SSD 840 evo drive which is what Windows runs on. it is probably a few years old now. My data is stored on a Seagate barracuda 2TB (ST2000). Unfortunately I do have memory related issues and find it difficult to remember when I built this PC or when the hard drives were put in. But at a guess probably 2019. I would like to upgrade these drives but its been a while since i've been following the latest tech news on what is considered reliable without breaking the bank. Any suggestions on brands of drives to replaces what I have currently would be much appreciated please? along with advice on the simplest way of cloning the drive so that it is a straight swap out ?

Many thanks

The Samsung 840 Evo is worth changing due to the cell degradation issue - even with the firmware update to work around the issue the drive can become unreliable for data integrity over time especially if left powered down for long periods.

Unless it is very old, you need more storage or want to move away from mechanical HDDs I wouldn't rush to replace the Seagate - HDDs will last years and years fine usually.

Samsung NVMEs are still one of the better brands out there, though there are other potentially more cost effective drives like the Western Digital series, Kingston, etc. looks like your board can take NVMEs though may not be as easily accessible as swapping out a 2.5" SATA drive or HDD.

Personally I use Acronis or Macrium cloning software but they aren't so easy to get hold of free versions of the software (or without significant limitations) any more.
