So my parents computer seems to have died with what I suspect was a mother board failure as it starting showing cpu over voltage and then died, the mother board is the only component i haven't swapped and isn't worth the hassle.

I was looking at something like a J4125 mini pc as a replacement as they don't really need anything much more powerful than the CPU they had as they only use it for the odd youtube and office work. Has anyone got any recommendations for a mini device? They are looking to spend around £250.

For parents I would buy a manufacturer refurbished base unit from the big electrical retailor ebay stores. Plenty of AMD or low tier Intel offerings from Acer, HP, or Lenovo.

It's £80-100 for a used SFF 7th-8th gen i3 inc SSD or HD on eBay, some even include an activated W10 licence, it's really not worth messing about with for that kind of money. HP ProDesk 400 G4/7th gen i3, 8GB, 256GB SSD, W10 is £110.57 delivered for example, I have others on my watch list as low as £79.99 delivered depending on spec.
