Hi folks,

I’m a little out of touch with TV’s at the mo, so I’m after some advice, I have a Sony 55x8509c, problem it’s playing up, it often goes into a boot loop, which means the main board is failing. So I’m weiging up whether to get it fixed or get a new set.

i like the Sony, nice enough pic, but it’s 4/5 years old, so would I be able to compare the PQ to low end Hisense or similar or is it a case of spending a decent wedge to get something not hugely better. I reckon It will cost 150 to repair. Or spend 500ish for a new TV. What’s the best bang for buck move peeps?

Why not go with another Sony ? i think the Sony 55" XH8096 would be the best choice for £650 and it will certainly have better motion handling than the Hisense 55U7QFT.

Just make sure that your tv stand has suitable space for the tv as the feet are wide on that model.
