Had this G5 (nano texture design) for almost 7 years, while all the functions still work, the braiding has frayed down to the inner covering in several places due to rubbing against the keyboard tray

I've always been happy with Logitech so started looking for a replacement

The Logitech G500 looks like it fits the bill (I play mainly FPS/RTS games), until I saw the Vengeance M65, which would you go for, or an alternative?

I have big hands and play claw-grip if that makes a difference

I upgraded from the G5 to the Corsair Raptor M45 which is a very good upgrade. It's just a 5000 DPI rather than 8200 that the M65 has and missing the sniper button, otherwise its a very similar mouse but made from plastic instead of aluminium. The Corsair logo also lights up red on the M45.

I made the switch from a G5 to a G500, identical shape and feel so it took no time to get used to using it. Few extra buttons on the side and more dpi settings. Been very impressed with it.

theres always the g502 which gets pretty good reviews.

I'm an old G5 user. I have had a corsair M65 in between, which is alright, but the sniper button is just out of my reach and it bugs me to hell.

I'm getting this next week, as soon as my order arrives. I can post a pictureless mini-review if someone wants.

Edit: Alright, I will take pictures on request too, but you can find most of them on the internet already. I have small hands, so if you want to see hand placement with a fingertip/claw hybrid grip I can do that.

As pointed out, the all new G502 looks very good and it's totally worth your attention. Check the reviews and if you can, go in a big shop and just touch both if they have them on display. If you have used G5 for that long it is highly possible that you will dislike any other shape so stick to Logitech.
