Was wondering wheter to stick this in laptops or Storage, but plumped for this.

Mrs S has a Samsung R510 laptop, which I am trying to breath new life into.

Have ordered some more ram to take it up from the very paltry 2 GB it came with and was contemplating changing the HDD for a SSD.

Which drive would people recommend and also which software will ineed so as to be able to completely clone the current drive (split into two partions of 70 GB each....) so that I can then install the new drive and away we go.

Don't really want to spend huge amouts on this as is only used for her doig net surfing / emails and basic office work, but she is adamant that we don't need to get a new laptop while this one is still working ( all be it very very slowly)

samsung 840 basic should do the trick, and use macrium reflect to clone, you might have isues with partitions not filling the whole ssd,if so you need to use easus partition master to resize them to fill the drive
