Hi,

I need to replace my kitchen taps, but need some help in picking the correct "form factor" that will match the existing tap holes. Am I correct in thinking mine below are a 'monoblock mixer'? I would like to buy one that will definitely match up with the existing pipe holes etc.

Would this one fit for example?

Is it a difficult job to fit a new taps yourself, in terms of tools needed or getting behind the sink or can it all be done from above as a straight swap out?

Underneath there are two copper pipes going into 'screwy bits' that are near impossible to reach if I had to change them during fitting?

Thanks for any advice!

That tap will fit but yours isn't a monobloc mixer, that looks like this - http://www.screwfix.com/p/swirl-ceramic-disc-mono-mixer-kitchen-tap-chrome/10724 - with just one hole.
It's easy enough to change but you may need to adapt the existing pipework slightly.
It's all done underneath and the easiest thing to do would be to attach these - http://www.screwfix.com/p/jg-speedfit-push-fit-flexible-tap-connector-hoses-15mm-x-x-300mm-pk2/2475g - to the threads when the tap is in situ then just push them on to the existing pipes after you've cut them down a bit with one of these - http://www.screwfix.com/p/monument-tools-automatic-pipe-cutter-15mm/12468

Perfect, thanks for the advice guys!

If I cut the pipes back, do those hoses literally just clip onto the raw unthreaded copper? Or is there a compression fit valve i need?

It's called a deck mixer.

What's the problem with the tap just now ?

You could fit tap revivers, which is just a hot and cold barrel and head, if the spout is leaking then remove and replace o ring.

Fwiw
