Hi Guys & Girls,

I'm looking to obtain a new laptop HDD since mine decided to go completely 'kahput' but seem to be somewhat confused...

As this is only used as a travel/work laptop and all major works are undertaken on my Desktop, I don't need a huge capacity drive (~320gb would be plentiful), but I would ideally like 7200rpm speed.

I daftly purchased a nice capacity/speed HD only to find my old dell lappy of ~5 years actually didn't have SATA connection but I believe IDE (Loads of pins :p don't judge my lack of knowledge :p )

From browsing the net I can't seem to find any 7200speed IDE drives or am I just looking in the wrong places?

I understand competitor rules on the forums but some clarification on whether or not I'm looking for something that exists would be great, along with any other tips / advice you lot are normally full of :)

Kind Regards,

Modern 5,400 laptop drives are much faster now and rival older 7,200 drives. And also have the advantage of running cooler :)

OC do Scorpio Blues here which are meant to be good, fast drives. I don't have any personal experience, just what I've read elsewhere. But I have an old Acer 4005 and would like to get a faster IDE drive for it - so would be interested too :)
