I've had a xspc x20 750 bay/pump and it's making a horrible noise now so I'm going Rma it but I've had it with xspc as this is the second pump I've had so I'm going to change to something different so and ideas on what pump to get as I will have to get a reservoir to,at the moment it's just cooling my cpu but it will need to cool 2x290x's when I get water blocks for them.

I too started off with a 750 , made a nasty noise and made my desk vibrate, i went with a xspc d5 bay combo and haven't had an issue since, the 750 is just a cheap product and as such not the best quality. I think all of the D5 based bay combos are pretty good imho.

With the D5 and DDC the barbs are annoying but they normally are fitted to resivours which can fit whatever barb you want.

I use a ddc and bay res combo definatly reccomend it :)

The bit with the barbs is just the front cover. You would remove that to place the pump in a bay res or to use a top etc. Or, you'd just buy the standalone model for a tenner less.

I'm using D5's with tops and a DDC in a bay res on different rigs and they're all good. Do prefer D5's, but they are quite bulky compared to the others mentioned here.

So if I got a d5 I would looking at getting d5 top/res combo and then getting the correct fitments, how does the ddc pump compare to a d5.

If you're sticking with a bay solution, you just get a D5 + D5 bay res (or combo pack) and use your existing g1/4 fittings in the back of the res.

D5 is the quietest and coolest running (not sure about the Ek 4.0) with the highest flow and the DDC 18w has higher head pressure. They'll all do the job in your rig :)

Could happily fit a 250mm or even 350mm in there between HDD bays/mobo.

If you want to go tube res grab a pump top for either D5 or DDC. Then you can use foam to decouple it from the case to prevent vibration :)

Interesting that the 750 is considered a cheap product. I had a failure from my original supplied system . The replacement at my cost was supplied January 2013. This unit became very noisy thus defeating the object of a water cooled system. It was replaced under warranty with the modified version October 2013. This unit has now failed, there is power to the unit, but it is dead.
OC do not want to know telling me the replacement only has a 28 day warranty and I should contact the manufacturer, not happy. I have emailed XSPC and await a reply. Meanwhile probably buying a fan, not from OC.

I have managed to take the unit apart and manually spin the pump, not possible on previous models as sealed. Powered up and pump works. Just reassembling, but leaks, treated to new pvc tubing not that easy to come by ended up at aquarium shop 12mm green tint looks nice. Leaked around cpu as gasket had expanded probably due to boiling. I have superglued the rubber gasket back in place where bulging and seems to have passed the blow test. Failing this will have to buy a new cpu unit.Off out now compound paste to purchase.
