At the moment my computer has two AIO cooling systems and I was trying to find a radiator with connectors on the side, like the below:

Does anyone know of any non-AIO rads with connectors in this location?

I'm weighing up options at the moment (I think one of my AIO pumps isn't happy) so want to prepare for the worst. There is also some inefficiency with the currently installed rads - there is a gap between them and the outer shell so some of the air taken in via the side vents does not pass through the radiators - If I have to replace at some point, I will also try to improve...

You're probably be out of luck then if you're trying to replace this exact radiator. As far as the fans/rad goes, surely as long as the fans are sealed nicely against the radiator itself then the airflow generated will flow through the radiator? The rad doesn't need to be flush to the side panels. A simple 240mm neoprene gasket between the fans and radiator will solve that issue.

There are no fans on the radiators in a Corsair one. There is one large fan at the top of the case that draws air in via the sides, through the rads.
