Hi All,

Can any one advise what type of cable I need to use between the internal virgin box (attached to wall) and the Tivo box?

Moving box and existing cable is a little short.
Looks like a typical coaxial but want to check before I head to b&q/screwfix.

Cheers.

It's coax, with F-connectors. I'd usually get properly shielded copper stuff with foam filling, but I doubt it will make much difference for such a short length and indoors.

Check they haven't put the box cover on with security screws. They used to do that years back, but now I think they don't bother.

You don't need to open the box

Cheers all - Standard Coax ordered for pick-up tomorrow...is there a limit to length? Its going up a wall....into ceiling then down other side of a room.... 12m total length max.

No, when you see the cheap stuff VM run down the street, almost anything will do. For myself, I'd always use decent copper shielded and foam core. If you look at the stuff from B&Q, it usually has little metal and just a piece of plastic with air pockets built in. That's the really cheap stuff I try to avoid.

The main thing is to make sure you make the connectors properly (no shorting) and to not kink it tight around corners or crush the cable.
