Replacing a double glazed panel for an aircon outlet

I'm pre-empting our apartment's famously hot summer and looking to install an outlet for a portable aircon unit through a window pane.

Reason for the pane idea is the window has a long but very narrow window opening in the middle of the whole window that would look weird and be noisy if it was open 24/7, and the window itself is made of many small panes so should be a cost-effective job. It's also an Airbnb so think doing it the 'pane way' will be neater and more idiot-proof/semi-permanent.

Here's the pane in question (below). I took off the internal surround/fixings and the actual pane itself measures 50x28cm. However I cannot shift it. It will have been there for 13 years since the building was converted and I got nowhere with a hairdryer and a suction cup (suction cup didn't come off, but no movement).

So three questions. How do I get the pane out?! And any recommendations on what to replace the pane with; am I better to get another piece of double glazing cut with a hole for the outlet, or create something using plexiglass or similar instead? That will then determine the last question... how to fit the replacement back in, beyond the obvious.

TIA!

2 options i can think of
1 get a new glass panel with correct size hole
2 get a UPVC panel with correct hole or cut it out yourself,i would go for a UPVC panel myself as less likely to break when fitting removing the aircon pipe
removing old pane might be possible with a sharp paint scrapper on the outside between glass and window (do not fall out of window :D)

Based on the aircon's outlet connection I think I've settled on using some plexiglass from B&Q for ease/speed (https://www.diy.com/departments/sty...lazing-sheet-l-1-2m-w-0-6m-t-2mm/35393_BQ.prd). The hose connector currently attaches to a 2mm thick window adaptor, so using a 2mm thick sheet will allow me to layer them up and cut the inner sheet to size and then the second sheet slightly larger so it can clip in.

It feels like that's the easy bit and getting the bloody window out is the hard bit. Going to buy a proper double handled window sucker tonight and see what other ply tools they have that might help.

Bad idea re the 2mm plexi, even if you stack them you would need around10+ as the glass will be around 20-24mm in my experience
measure the existing panel and get a UPVC piece cut to size and maybe get the hole cut as well unless you are capable of DIYing it

Is it aluminium windows?
I have seen a sort of double sided tape used to stick the glass in place too
:)

just re read your op
so you can get a bead to suit the plexi??
Still think 2mm is too flimsy and hope it will fit your window if you go that route

I used to replace toughened glass panes with plastic type ones (poly carb) and they were 6mm thick which I would think is minimum - The vandals just scratched it instead of breaking them. 2mm is thin.

Well, sorted. Did 2x 2mm plexiglass panes inside and out with 4x 4mm corrugated plastic sheets in between. Plexiglass was a bitch to work with actually - corners splintered etc - but it was fine in the end and cutting the inside 2mm sheet to have the aircon adaptor clip on to worked.

Only way to get the existing pane out was to absolutely destroy it, was ridiculous!
