replacing alarm system

our house has an old alarm system in it which was here when we bought it. the alarm just has 3 sensors for doors and 1 push panic style button.

the model seems to be INDEX 9450.

our house is currently being redecorated and i'm keen not to put this alarm system back and make holes for it so would like to replace it if possible.

how do these things work? would the current sensors and panic buttons just be a case of unplugging from this system and plugging into a new system?

any recommendations as to ones we could look at?

Just buy a brand new yale smart alarm.

you get a trigger to you mobile phone if activated.

you also have the benefit of activating and de-activating from anywhere in the world.

so if I forgot to turn it on, I can do so when I get to work. it prompts you to turn it on every time you leave your home using geo-location and you press 1 button on the pop up to do so.

I'm happy to buy a new one. Just figured I'd need to have it work with the current hardware or at least wiring. Maybe my question is a bit dim but would a new alarm system have different wiring to the door sensors and the main alarm noise maker that's outside?

With a new yale alarm system you get everything you need and it's all wireless.

so rip out everything from the old system and either bin it or sell it on.

then install the new system. i'v installed 2 now one at mine and at my mates. it's really simple all you need is a step ladder preferably with 3 steps. and a drill. it's also max 1-2 hours work depending on size of house since there is no wires involved.
