I decided to follow a video on youtube about about taking the cover off and cleaning it, in the process I snapped a few of the clips and made the cover extremely sticky and unpleasant to use.

So now I am looking for a shiny new mouse to take its place!

Ideally I would like something a little bigger in the hand than the Deathadder and non matte/soft plastic as after a while it seems to get a bit clammy and I can't find anything to clean it with that does't make it worse.

So what has everyone else went to after the deathadder and would you recommend it?

DeathAdder Chroma.

I had my DeathAdder for 8 years until the right click started double clicking.

Replaced it with a Chroma, it's a far better design, the material is different, no more 'wet patches' after prolonged use. Very happy with the Chroma!

Logitech Proteus mouse.

Took a while to get used to the layout. The left and right mouse buttons feel EXCEPTIONAL. Like the difference between rubber dome and a mechanical keyboard.

I had the same issue as above (double clicking) and took it as an opportunity to get a mouse with more buttons for MOBAs. If it was just for FPS/general use..... I'd probably have still checked competition out as Razer stuff is just a bit pricey. Although Deathadders are lovely mice, despite their quality control.

Keep an eye on the Finalmouse Scream One. And forget about, the hype, the name or whatever. It's all about the features and the shape. It's in the ballpark of a WMO / Deathadder, with a 3360.

I still find it hard to recommend a finalmouse though. You sort of take a chance. The build quality is patchy. Mine isn't particularly well built, mainly cosmetic. No problem with performance or durability yet.

And of course, they are expensive, because hype.

And there is the Hori Edge 101. Same deal, much better built, heavier.

Software is awful on the hori edge, mine kept going back to Chinese whenever I made any changes. Also the scroll wheel will drive you nuts, it was so lose. One tue weights are taken off it is actually okay at 105g
