Replacing Graphics Card, Need Advice

I currently have a budget of around £50-80 (I could go higher if absolutely needed, but Ideally I'd like to stay within that price range), and I'm not sure what graphics card to get. I'm looking for something that will run modern games smoothly, but not necessarily on the highest settings... Currently I have an extremely poor integrated graphics card. System specs are below.

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz - 2.50GHz
4.00GB RAM
Over 1000GB of memory
64-bit operating system with windows 7

Thanks in advance :)

Beatson can I ask what resolution you normally play at or intend on playing at? And if you're willing to stretch your budget just a tiny bit (still under £90) you could grab a GTS 450 or a Radeon 6770, both of which aren't too shabby at reasonable graphics settings and resolution.

You can see from the following link that although the GTS 450 sits at the bottom of the chart, 33 FPS is still perfectly playable for Dirt 2. And that's with most of the settings maxed out :)

Pretty much any card in your price range will be a lovely boost from your integrated card.

sadly the 6770 isnt shown on this site, but if the rest of the range is anything to go by, the 5770 will be better than it:

for every single card, the 5 series is better than the equivilant 6 series.

at that budget, the 5770 is probably the best your going to get, unless you can find a 5830 within budget, then i would definitely go for that: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/294?vs=290

Not strictly true. Well actually it is only true if we assume that the HD6870/HD6850 were direct replacements for the HD5870/HD5850, which they weren't.

Everything else in the HD6xxx range is better than the equivalent HD5xxx range card (ignoring for this purpose models unique to each range - HD6310 for example).

The HD6770 IS a HD5770 albeit with a newer UVD processor.
