How easy is it to do?
I've heard its just a standard IDE HDD Hdd with a raw content (i.e. primary partition deleted)
My sky plus hdd keeps making funny noises causing the box to crash or sometimes freeze during playback. Sky want £65 for the guy to come to give me a new box, yeah right he stays round the corner from me, I see the van parked there every night.
If it's a simple job to do i'll just stick in this old 80gb WD hdd i have sitting in my cupboard.

If anyone knows how or has done it, let me know what to do or point me to a web page that'd be great. cheers.

They are picky as to what hdd's they will work with. But yeah its simply a matter of chucking a raw disk in and performing a system reset to format it.

However, its a waste of time. Phone sky cancellations, even first line have the authority to arrange a free of charge swap out.
