Replacing one tyre

Either just stick the one toyo on and accept that you'll be a bit out of sync for a while r.e tread or buy two decent tyres ( not kumho). They likely won't be much more than what you've looked at already anyway

I love these sort of threads - I just hope the car tailgating me in wet doesn't have odd tyres on and they grip better than my Dunlop Maxx RT's.

If you come up behind me you will know it's me because I will be leaving enough stopping distance for both of us.

Calm yourself, whikst the toyos are far from as good as the likes of conti/ eagle f1s they are also a world better than nangkang or any other Chinese crap.

As for the p7000's...I just kinda hope that they are much, much better than the 6000

I agree with everything there! I am well impressed with my Toyo's. Certainly worlds apart from the budget rubbish. I don't for one minute think they are the best tyre out there though!

And the less said about P6000's the better :D

I've replaced one tyre on many occasions and been killed precisely no times.

Yes, becuase of course death is what people advocate will happen

His other tyre is at 4mm, no point not replacing it really so you get a decent pair. You are not really spending extra money, you are just buying a tyre a bit earlier.

4mm was for arguments sake, I need to measure it properly, probably has more tbh I cant find my tyre tread depth measure, if it is 4mm I'll replace it because you're right in what you're saying

As for Toyo's I've had T1R's and T1S's and didn't think either were worth shouting about, cant comment on the 4's because I only have two of them and one of them needs replacing. I have used loads of different tyres over the years though and honestly the Kumho KU39's I quite good they really are

I dont know why this is addressed at me, I am commenting about the lack of death experienced after driving when only having replaced one tyre.

This is not dependent on the condition of any other tyres on the vehicle.

I've had to replace one tyre in the past - managed to puncture one beyond repair with only around 4k miles on.
As it was "one of a pair" I'd purchased there was no way I was replacing the other with that few miles.
I did make sure I replaced like with like so I still had matching make/model on the same axel.
But as much as "tyres should be replaced in pairs" is an ideal - you have to use the head sometimes and decide the difference really wont make that much difference.
