Replacing Passport - How long?

If you'd bother to read what I said, you'd see what the problem is with your opinion.

I have read your post and I still have the same opinion, you do travel, you even state that you could be in Zurich or Chicago so you would need your passport at least annually whether or not any other oportunities came along is inconsequential

No, I said:

"It's not in the duty of my job to travel, but I spent most of the early part of the year in Zurich and/or Chicago. Things can (and often do) change quickly in business and you have to be adaptable."

So, the salient points from that:

1. My job specification and remit does NOT include travel.
2. Earlier this year I *WAS* sent, on business, to Zurich then Chicago, with minimal notice (2 days notice for Zurich, 2 weeks notice for Chicago), this is outside the remit of my role, which was acknowledged at the time.

Given the situation, 9 years without traveling abroad or need of a passport at all, a job remit which does NOT include travel, AND an internal memo with instructions to REDUCE traveling, how likely is it that I am going to require a passport in the next 2 days?

I feel reading is a dying art-form.
