Replacing Xonar Essence STX

Does it work ok on the x570 platform? I would still buy one if the only problem was a reboot whem i change soundoutput would there not be a way around that?


I used the offical drivera for the ST and as someone said rock solid and amazing sound. And next year i have to move from the Z87 based system to the x570 or something. So the card will have to be sold or kept for a legacy project.

It looks likely that root cause of reboot problem might have been there for very long time.
Just today read on Finnish PC forum of someone having problem in being unable to get any drivers installed for ST after clean Windows reinstall and also he's had that same reboots on change of output problem Asus acknowledged for STX II.

Well i think then i will postpone any upgrade on platform or sound until more is known. If you pay 200 quid for a card and the software sucks well no thanks. Asus need to sort this out do you know where the best place is to find info on this? I always have a high end audio part in my pc it will never change but the vendor might.
 
Never had a problem with my STX and it's 1823 drivers from a few years back. It's gone through all Windows updates including 1903.
when it does finally give up the ghost I'll just plug my speakers into the pre-out sockets of my Schiit Vali 2
