Just doing my final year dissiertation report (computer science course, so i am ashamed of asking this!!)

The page numbering must be specific, the first 4 pages must me in roman numerals, not including the title page. And the rest should be in normal numeric figures.

How do i make word "skip" the numbering of the title page? And make the second page of the report (the abstract) start from roman numeral i?

then how would i then change from roman numerals to then normal numbers after the contents page?

Its so hard :(

Have a look at Sections - they allow you to number things independently (along with other things)

Sections? just having a look, it not in the page numbering bit?

Which section is it in under the toolbars?

Thanks :D

Insert->Break->Section Break Types->Next Page

do that after the fourth page and you should then be able to number the pages differently (just insert them twice on the pages you want to start at

you might be able to do it "better" but it should work
