Reset Button Pointless?

My fractal r3 had one... but i snapped it when i pulled the front panel off :P.

The only time i need to restart my PC is usually when i have it in bits... and i have a ROG motherboard so i have all the switches on-board :P.

I use the reset button often, why wait 5 seconds holding the power button when I can have the computer restart instantly? I'd spend hours holding the power button down when overclocking the computer or installing new hardware if I didn't have a reset button...

actually not always. Reset triggers a board reset (a soft reset, if you like) Powering off and on (waiting 20 secs before power on) performs what is more often known as a cold boot, especially if you pull the power lead before power back on.

This can vary from board to board (Configurable by some iirc), mine just instantly restarts. To perform a cold boot I need to fully power off the system at the mains (as stated in the manual)

+1, it is useful for over clocking and hiding stuff when people burst in as stated above
