Resident Evil 5 - 3D Benchmark

Nice to know that the game will come with Keyboard and Mouse support out of the box, unlike the poor port that was Resident Evil 4 which needed a custom mod.

Shame a 30FPS limited video playback does not do justice for how well the game will run smoothly on a decent rig. But then for most of us who have a good system and used the benchmark demo tool, it doesn't really matter.

And even then, they are using 1280x720? BOOO! :p

Hopefully a playable demo will be released soon, unless that was only avaliable to Game Reviewers.

EDIT - Looks like 18th September release for Europe, so very close now.

So is this game running better on ATi cards, some of the benchys I've seen in ATI cards are really high FPS.

Not really, my GTX260 gets 83.9fps (variable test) with 1920x1200 4xAA motion blur enabled and that's DX10 in Win7 x64.

E8400 at stock, 4870 512MB with small OC, Win 7 64bit, 4GB

1680x1050, max everything in options, standard test

45fps average in DX9
50fps average in DX10

Something doesn't seem right. I have a new build and so I thought I would measure my e peen with you guys. I'm not clued up on graphics cards etc so bare with me.

955 @ 3.21
4GB Dominator
Asus Top 4890
Windows 7

Variable benchmark. On DX10 I get a B grade... can't remember the FPS but I think it was around 60. On the 3rd stage the frames went right down to about 20.

But with DX9 I get a S and FPS is over 100 and the 3rd stage is fine. Newest drivers as well.

Any ideas :s

Looks more like farcry 2 with zombies than a res evil title :P
Nice graphics though, hope the gameplay is good too.

I was thinking the same thing! Looks good though!
I guess they wanted to create something a bit different eh?
Not played 'Resi evil 4' but I might play this!

Just installed this benchmarking to see how it would go. The resolution I am using is 1152X864 and I tested in DirectX 9 mode . Everything including anti-aliasing was set to it's highest value. I've only tried the first test of the two so far. Results were an average of 50 FPS , never dropping below the mid 30's in any zone, which I'm very pleased with. I disabled Vsync and only got about 2 or 3 more FPS than with it enabled, also when disabled there was noticeable tearing so I'll probably just keep it on when I get the full game. I have to say that in COD4 I am getting around 70-80 FPS and I can't really tell the difference between the smoothness of that and this.

No screenshot at the moment, specs are as follows:
E8400 @ 3.0Ghz
1GB 9800GT
2GB DDR2 PC8400

How would I go about taking screen shots at the exact same moment in the game if I wanted to compare two?

I hope that the game is good, RE4 was wicked!!!, from this benchmark gameplay looks a bit pants imo.

EDIT: NOoooooo, this game is out just before Aion is out. Aion gets my money first, I'll pick RE5 at reduced price for xmas maybe.

Anyone getting this game, its out next week, im getting it, but can't decide should i get steam version or a hard copy.

Hi, sorry to revive an old thread.

Just run the game play benchmark on my crossfire rig.

Settings absolutely maxed out, DX10 and at 1920X1080 resolution.

Results were an average of 138.8FPS, is this any good, I cant seem to find any recent comparable.

I don't know what would be comparable, but if it runs silky smooth at anything over 60+ fps constantly on maximum details, then all is good.

This game is optimised very well and should run no problems on any decent spec'd PC.

Graphically and performance wise, it blitzes any of the console versions, though when it comes to content, the PC version lacks a lot, especially when compared to the new Gold Edition.

Hell even local split-screen is removed which is an absolute BS move by Capcom. This could have really tested the performance if it had stayed on.
