Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil/Resident Evil(Gamecube) - All time classic
Resident Evil 4 - Introduced a whole new genre...
Resident Evil 5 - Brilliant Co-Op
Resident Evil 6 - Average at best
Resident Evil 7 - FPS Survival Horror, no thank you, got about 15 unplayed in my Steam Library... time to play Evil Within.

Meh, Resident Evil hasn't been Resident Evil since the Gamecube. RE4 killed in for me. Even though they're good games in and of themselves, they're not Resident Evil in my opinion.

Just finished the demo, loved it. So damn creepy despite the fact nothing much happens!! Definite purchase for me

The game makes no sense...

End of the demo there's literally a guy that ambushes you. A human, an intelligent speaking human...

The chick in the video at the end is some kinda T-Virus/Plagas hybrid from the looks of it, not scary...

What are they trying to achieve? Resident Evil doesn't have the lore to pull off a game like this, supernatural or demonic enemies work in pure survival FPS games, nothing else. Hopefully this is like P.T. and this is literally a 'Playable Teaser' and the main game will be like Revelations or maybe even like 0/1/2/3/CV.

The original zombies from the first couple games would work well, but they are obsolete now and more powerful viruses exist that create the more human-like zombies that dodge, shoot, think, use weapons and even guns. The full game being like this demo would just ruin it, guess we'll find out in time.

It is confirmed that it's a playable teaser and is not part of the main game, something separate.

That doesn't mean the main game will be 3rd person like normal, though.

Resident Evil 7's demo isn't part of the full game

The Resident Evil 7 demo currently available on PS4 for PlayStation Plus subscribers isn't actually part of the full game.

Capcom confirmed this to Eurogamer earlier today, where it was also confirmed that the full game will star a different lead character than the man in the demo.

The studio noted that Resident Evil 7 has been in development since 2014.

We took a look at Resident Evil 7's demo earlier today and I found it an unclear representation of how the full game would be, but more diligent explorers than I discovered an axe - complete with an attack button and all - suggesting that there will be combat in the full experience.

Edit: Beaten by above post.

I can't play the demo as I dont have a console, but it did look interesting from the video. I'll be honest I was expecting some action packed trailer like RE6 with a load of QTEs etc, so it was a pleasant surprise to see something new.

The first person mode could be great if done well. I hope there is some action as well and its not just some creepy walking simulator.

Please go back to it. check the drawer in the hallway. Get the fuse for the stairs. Find the lockpick and ooen the drawer during the video tape section in the kitchen (check between the fridge and the wall) and take the axe when your back in the 'present day'

Now get yourself upstairs then tell me what comes after the phone call. Strong PT vibes. ;)

You can get an axe, which you can weild (one and two handed), but nobody seems to have figured out it's purpose yet beyond a few destructable objects. A lot of people seem to think the finger you find can be melted down somehow to reveal a key but again nobody has been able to do so.

...and then there are ghost sightings, which will probably put some people off entirely, heh. :)

I played it through a few times last night and found it very very good. The tension and the setting were very good. I love it how people wanted it to go back to true survival horror then are disappointed when it appears to have happened.
