Resistance 2 info OMG!!! ( if true)

But 60 annoying whining kids! That will get on your nerves ;)

Good job no one talks on PS3 :p.
I think 15 vs 15, or around that, should be the maximum for games, without that games in general lose their purpose with many people going off and doing their own things rather than working as a team. Battlefield 2 got away with it by utilising some very well designed multiplayer maps (much in the same way Desert Combat did), but that is the only series I've played with large numbers that have entertained me.

I like the sound of the co-op :)

60 players sounds to much in my oppinion, but I will say 40 player on dedicated servers ran really well.

Personally I'd rather see Insomniac working on another R&C, but obviously that's not the case :(

COD4 is the only game people seem to use comms in regularly. The big plus that they don't seem to be whinning kids, me and my mate's play it a lot and have met some really decent/mature people online :)

It doesnt sound just like a 30 V 30 TDM according to the quote

11: will log into smaller four-to-eight man lobbies for each squad... encouraging communication and camaraderie, squad will be tasked with a particular objective. careful level design aims to deliver intense combat zones or small team conflicts that flow within arena of larger battle.

Sounds like each side will be split into smaller groups with different objectives defend one point and the other team attack. So instead of 1 mass 30v30 battle going on it sounds like in each 60 player map there will be say 4 or 5 individual battles going with possible support from other teams when needed. A bit like the BF2142 titan games when one group defends the titan the other attacks, teams on the ground try to take over missle launchers etc. Sounds good if its like that, loved that mode on BF2142. I guess there also be the mad 30v30 or 15v15v15v15 death matches though.

That's my only problem with Xbox Live, it sometimes drives me mad. I used to love playing Burnout, met some fantastic people on that (one of which I still regularly message on Xbox Live) and never met anyone who annoyed me whilst playing it (infact, most of the time I was in stitches), but every other game there have always been people I want to hit.

I currently have "Voice" turned to "0" in my personal settings so I don't hear anyone :p.

Exactly what I do on CoD4 on the PS3, I just can't be doing with listening to what people are having to eat that night, or if they are going out tomorrow to smack Kenny the dealer around the head.

lol true had one American order pizza over the phone gave out his name address and CC detail over his headset and then swore when he realised!!

I totally agree with you but I feel that we are in the minority when people talk about this game.

I thought the first was a very solid game, and doesn't deserve a lot of the hate it gets around here, I just can't help but think that no.2 is going to be very special, and a lot better than people are thinking right now, guess we will have to wait and see.

In fairness, it can only be better than I'm expecting.
I don't think it gets a lot of hate around here bar me, and whilst I think most of the reviews in respected press were fair, I still feel most of them were a little too kind.

I also enjoyed it, as did all my mates. Wasn't the best looking game but ran really well and was excellent value for money :)

Your deffo not the only one mate, there seems to be quite a few who slate it, and your only giving your opinion - nothing wrong with that. If we all agreed this would be a fairly boring place.

Sounds good to me, people moaning about the 60 player thing..shush :p Let's face it..it's generally meant to be a war so surely more is better? You don't see many wars with 10 people do you? I know you don't with 60 but you get my point..it feels more like one.

Its two thumbs up for me too !! Some of the reasons behind it being a bad game seem a bit strange. Loved how different weapons are to the normal guns, slow mo sniper guns, bullet traps with the bullseye, shooting through walls making shields with the auger Fantastic! Taking cover behind a wall only to see an auger shell bury its way through to you the first time was cool. One of my fav weapons was the stinger minigun just launching a clip in the air and watch the bullets ricochet around taking out chimera was awesome. With the improvements stated earlier and the insomniac polish, i cant think of many FPS games that will be this good out this year.

You don't see many deathmatches do you (shame as The Running Man is totally badass) but it still works in games. Respawns mean you'll get loads of people anyway.

I also prefered it to Halo 3 which I traded in when I bought my PS3.
The points msmalls74 made about the weapons also ring true for me.
I really wanted Halo 3 to be a game I would like but after playing single player once and a few weeks playing it online, I concluded just like the previous halo games, they just weren't my cup of tea and as I expected, over hyped.
For overall game play I prefer Resitance to the Halo series so I for one do believe (from what I have read so far) that Resitance 2 will be the game for me.
I would even go as far to say that I've enjoyed playing Resistance as much as I have enjoyed COD4 although COD4 does seem better online (perhaps this is the advantage XBL has over PSN?).
But then this is just my opinion and it'd be a boring world if we all agreed on the same things.

I just got the shivers! Great screens :)

Any yup, I've tried and tried to like 50+ person COD games but it's just -kill, die, respawn- every 10 seconds. 20-30 is optimal imo.
The original Resistance was surprisingly good. I hadj ust come from finishing Gears, so was quite underwhelmed by the graphics and gameplay, but once the story starts to develop, you get more weapons and etc, it's so much fun :D

Another sequel to a generic FPS on PS3. I really don't know why people are getting excited over this. Killzone and Resistance are both terribly generic, boring games yet people are lauding their sequels as the best thing since sliced bread. I'm personally excited for Killzone 2 having seen the graphics and ambitions of the developers laid bare for all to see but I'm not some freaking muppet who will fall hook line and sinker for the hype like the rest are. Settle down, Jesus Christ. It's just A.N. Other sequel.

Why don't you misguided PS3 fanatics give the real games the respect they deserve, like Gran Turismo 5 and Metal Gear Solid 4. Those two games got nothing in terms of recognition, and Resistance 2 got thoroughly ejaculated upon on several gaming forums already. It disgusts me.
