I just tried to resize my 2 partitions. I have one for vista and one for XP, on the same hard drive. I ran Acronis Disk Director from my XP install, I wanted to shrink my XP partition and increase my Vista partition. It seemed to go ok until I try to boot Vista, if I try to boot I get the following error (or something similar) after I choose Vista on the boot manager:
File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Status: 0xc000000e
Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
I can load XP fine (I'm writing this on it now) and it has resized the partions correctly as well, I just cant get into the Vista partition. I can explore the Vista partition in XP and everything still seems to be there, it seems to have just deleted this winload.exe thingy.
Any ideas how to fix it? My first thought was to wack in the Vista dvd and try to repair the install but I didn't want to do that straight away incase it wiped anything. Is this is a sensible idea or is there something else I should do first? (I don't really fancy doing a fresh install if possible)
Thanks for any advice.
