Resolution Question

Hi all

Could someone please tell me if I would get a better picture or resolution on my monitor if I were to buy a active DP to DVI adapter and use that than just to use DVI to HDMI,
Is there any difference?
I have just the 1 24" Dell S2440L LED Monitor atm but I will be getting another one soon.
My graphic card is the Saphire Radeon 7870XT

DVI and HDMI are the same apart from HDMI carrys sound.

They are 2 totally different standards. They are not the same.

They both however carry digital signals and neither offers better Image Quality than the other.

Maybe i dint explain very well , i ment the same digital signal but Hdmi carrys sound.

Of course there different interface.
