Resolution size query.

Hi guys, I was hoping someone could shed some light on something regarding resolution sizes...

So I've heard somewhere that a lower res is cpu intensive but a larger red is gpu intensive. Is this right?

If that being so, would that mean my rig:
RTX2070 super
I7-2600k

Would run better at a high res than a lower?

Grossly simplified: the higher the resolution, the more work for the GPU; the higher the FPS, the more work for the CPU.

Ok, but does that then suggest that, if in my instance, you have a weak cpu and a powerful gpu then a higher res would be the best option?

This feels like an obvious question, but nothing is ever truly obvious!

It also depends on which types of games you're playing. If you need higher FPS, then 1080p is your best option.

However, if you want to strike a good balance between resolution and FPS the. 1440p is the best option.
