Hi All I want to get a new 20inch widescreen monitor and i watch a lot of dvds , i like the Dell 2007 but noticed it has a high Response time of 16ms ,is it better to go for a lower Response time ?

yes quicker response times are better...ghosting will probably be noticable in movies too when the action is fast paced.
ive never noticed any ghosting but the 2 panels i have are 2ms on a 22" and 4ms for the 46".

if you can stretch the budget a bit then go for atleast a 22"...watching movies on a small screen just pretty much kills it.

wow ! so a 20 inch is now considered a small screen ? where have i been ,must be out of touch ha ! but i know whay u mean ..;)

Dell 2007wfp is 8 ms GTG, for some bizarre reason Dell still quote the ISO reponse time just for that one screen but none of the others. Certainly quick enough for movies and I've played plenty of quick games on it. It's not as quick as the overdriven TN panels (the 2 ms ones) but as quick as anything else. The viewing angles of the S-IPS panel in the 2007wfp are the best around, far better than you'll get from any TN screen.

Also have a look at the OcUK 24" PVA screen which is excellent value.

Never noticed any ghosting, I used to use a 6ms 20" BenQ but I now use a 37" LG with 8ms.

No problems with either, gaming or movies. Burnout Paradise is fast as hell and I've not noticed any ghosting with that.
