New build with fresh install of windows 11. Every now and then when restarting it will go to the “press f1 to enter bios”.

Edit! Setting "Monitoring Software reboot Workaround" to “enabled” fixed the issue.

Hopefully this helps someone else :)

CMOS battery issue maybe?

Have you tried a bare bones boot?
All that is enabled is EXPO, so will remove this today and see if that helps.

Assuming new build is fine, could be the splash screen, does it stay on so you have to press F1 to continue?
When a certain app needs a restart the pc will sometimes restart on the “press F1 to enter the bios” after doing this it works fine. It has happened a few times, however most of the time it is fine. I’ve reinstalled windows 11 from USB thinking that might work, and also read that “fast boot” can sometimes cause issues both in bios and Windows, so tried disabling those but happened after doing this.

Which board is it? Older boards used to have a boot delay function for hard drives which you could set to a few secs to give them time to start.

What memory do you have? Is there any message/settings reset or is it only the F1 thing? If the settings are being reset then you may have instability.

It’s an X870-E Hero.

I’m using 64gb 6000 CL28. I’ll take a pic of the screen when I’m home if it happens again. It is just the black screen which tells me to press F1 to go to bios.

Looks like some sort of instability.

There's a lot of posts about that board and a so-called "monitoring software workaround". You might want to look into it, since your symptoms sound like they might be related.
I have read posts regarding issues but not specifically the one I’m having. Someone mentioned on an X670 board that setting "Monitoring Software reboot Workaround" to “enabled” helped their particular issue.

Hopefully that option is there and I’ll try that this evening when home.
