Restaurant name?

The Place
Family Feast

it does sound more pub-ish than posh restaurant if I am honest, especially if you do end up buying the brewery too so it needs to be a chilled relaxed kind of name. What's your surname? Could anything be created around that?

What about local slang? something that may be used for food and chilling?

Some **** suggestions:

Double R Diner
Sauron's Kitchen
Lord of the Onion Rings

If you were a fish restaurant i'd suggest "Richter Scales"

Roots is a good line but if it's taken it's taken. There's a place in Bristol called Roots too, I don't know if that was the inspiration.

How about the name of a tree? Without any such tree being on your property, you could opt for an indigenous to the UK in ode of both the area and your heritage.

Oak, willow, elm, juniper? With your location you want a short name that's quickly readible, and a known word (as opposed to a surname, or a made up word) will be more memorable.

The brand of a tree, be that an outline, it's leaf, seeds etc is quite easily implementable across the board as well. You could play on the link to 'family tree' too if you wanted, but could become a bit cheesy.

On that note you'll want to try and find out if parents passing by actually want to go to a child-orientated place, or just a place thats still for adults whilst being child friendly. Personally I would do a decent amount of road side research; set up a stall and offer free food or beer or whatever in return for answering a questionnaire.

I like your thinking, we have a line of bamboo trees along the side of the garden, how about 'Bambu' or Bamboo, but then, that would need to be oriental themed :( See what i mean! lol

Name it "Wherever, I'm not bothered"

That way you'll always get married couples who can't decide where to eat.
