Hi,

was wondering if someone could point me towards a document about restoring an user mailbox from Exchange 2003.

Recently moved from 2000 and believe it has now changed ?

Thanks

Should be easy with Backup exec, just select the mailbox, you can even force to recreate the user account in AD as well.

yeah we do a mailbox backup. Sorry to sound a bit clueless, but normally the sys admin guy does this, but he's awway for a few days.

looking at the document, methods 3 is what we did for exchange 2000 restore. Thought 2003 would handle it a bit easier, as it takes ages.

as user said that one of her folders magically dissappeared

mailbox backup, you're OK then. :)
I won't comment, cos I don't know 2003.

alternatively, do you have the "delayed delete" option enabled (can't remember proper name at mo')
if so, the files may be recoverable from her deleted items folder
"tools" ... ""recover deleted items"

.

thanks, yeah delayed delete is on but only 7 days and she deleted the email just over that !

oh and really wierd internet is totally down, except for overclockers !! ??

heh, we have people whose head is a week behind too

so I set mine to 30 days,
then the month end tape covers it.

there are internet sites other than overclockers ?
I must get out more...

.

ughhh ok been reading up on Recovery Storage Group.

But when i right click the Servername to do a new recovery storage group, the option is not there, just Storage Group.

Any ideas ?
