Hi folks,

How should I restore my data folder for my steam account?

I took a copy of the SteamData folder as suggested in various places but I'm not sure what to do about reinstalling.

Previously I install my putting Half-Life2 on my machine.

Any suggestions/info?

Ta :)

I think you can just copy it back.

You might have to "Verify Integrity of Steam Cache" before launching any of your games to download any updates, but thats always worked for me.

Yep pretty much.

If you've got a copy of SteamApps, install a new copy of Steam, then paste your old SteamApps into the right place.

When you launch games, Steam might say they're not installed. When you go to install them, they won't actually download anything, and will just install.

If they still don't work, verify their integrity as Hzza said. :)

Another thing that works is you can delete everything in the steam folder but the steam.exe then move the steamapps back in then run steam.exe and it will rebuild everything and on launch will detect all the games.
