Well, some of you will remember the thread a few weeks back about the state of the bodywork. firstly, I got my cleaning kit at the ready...

and these are the results !

Front

Bonnet Reflection

Passenger side front to back

Shiny windows !

Passenger side back to front

Rear right quarter

Roof !

rear right roof support, note the paintwork now !

So much better than before, the cars totally transformed, well worth the effort :)

Shrink or link the picture dude ;)

Looks nice, but why go to all that effort for a Vauxhall Corsa?

Especially one that a woman drives, it'll be scratched and dented in no time ;)

how good is that polisher? Tempted to get one as the funds atm can't quite stretch to the porter cable 7424. Take it its ok for applying and removing removing polishing compounds/waxes?

It makes applying/removing polishes/waxes faster than by hand. But it's nowhere near as powerful. Don't expect it to repair scratches/swirls etc.

as for the polisher, I did the whole car in the meg paint cleaner with it, but I wasnt happy with the finish, so we did it again by hand, and then continued by hand, theres a few other blemishes that we need to sort, and ill probably use the polisher again after all that for the final wax or whatever. its absolutely incredible what a bit of product does to what appears to be wrecked paint

Looks grand compared to the start-

See who needs a £5,000 car wash when a couple of bottles of 'glym can get it looking like that?!

in total that stuff probably comes to about 40-45 quid, but obviously it lasts for quite a while

Looking very clean. Glad to see one less pink corsa on the road. Is it just me or is Vauxhall's red the worst for this? My brothers red Corsa was terrible, he had to T-cut it every 2 weeks to keep it red

That is not bad at all! Gotta get me one of those electric polishers.

Do they remove all the stupid little scratches, as my car is full of them.

Seeing as you posted a bonnet shot... here are some of my old 214... before it got scratched to death :(

Red doesn't half come up well

ahh now i see, it had faded pink. did you use tcut on the polisher machine? if so then thats ******* handy, as t-cutting is probably the most arm aching thing you can do to a car other than polishing.

p.s the paint didnt appear to be wrecked just faded, its a common thing and it just needs elbow grease to t-cut the oxidised layer off the top, then theres nice fresh paint underneath.

I have the cheaper version of that polisher and its still worth buying as it saves a lot of effort and I most likely wouldn't bother or have the time otherwise.

The real test is how it looks in a month, it looks bling now but if it looks shiny in a month after a bucket of water has been chucked over it I'll be even more impressed :)

Is your gf gratefull or did she prefer pink ? :p
