Hi Guys

Thought I would post up my results from my latest upgrade in case any one is considering a similar purchase.

Some of you will remember I was asking a few weeks back about the TRUE cpu cooler/heatsink from Thermaltake and asking which fan would be best?

So I lapped my cpu and the thermaltake TRUE so they were nice and flat and shiny!!:D

After reading lots of reviews on the TRUE vs the Asus slient Sq series I decided to go for the TRUE as it seemed people were shaving more degrees off their load temps when overclocking. I was then told that for performance the Delta fans were the best but very LOUD!

I threw caution to the wind and ordered one and the it arrived!

I'm not joking the DELTA fans are the loudest fans I have ever heard the noise is ridiculous and annoyed me instantly - seriously you can't live with one of these things in your pc! I always have music on or I am gaming with the volume up but the noise of the fan just pi**ed me off!

So I bought a Scythe Kama Meter and its lovely, its blue to match my Antec 900 case fans, its built really nicely and it allows me to run the DELTA between 1200 - 3500 RPM which is more than enough I can't recommend it more.

Any way on to the temp results. I was able to overclock my Q6600 to 3.6 with the intel stock cooler in my case due to the passive mos fets on my maximus formula board and the ambient temp in my case so I have included these temps as well!

Intel stock cooler

@ 2.4 - cpu 23-24degrees idle

@ 3.6 - cpu 33 degrees idle - 69 - 70 degrees under full load on prime

TRUE & DELTA

@ 2.4 - cpu 17 degrees idle

@ 3.6 - cpu 22 -24 degress idle - 41 degrees under full load on prime:cool:

I'm well chuffed thats nearly 30 degrees off my load temps! :D This heatsink and fan combination really comes into its own under full load!

Highly recommended BUY THEM TODAY!!!

Still can't get over 3.6 but not becuase of temps, just stabilty:mad:

Try coretemp or something like that. Those temps sound a bit on the low side. In fact you are cooler than my water setup and my water is just above room temp at idle. I find it hard to believe that is your core temps. I personally use everest as it shows me all my temps, hdd's, nb, sb, etc etc.

You must have a really cold room, thats for sure, I cant get anywhere near those temps on high end water with a Q9300.
overclocked around the same speed.

I've used Everest and it gives me the temp readings as pc probe and speedfan, Yes my room temp is fairly cool but its the combination of a lapped cpu, lapped thermaltake ultra extreme and the delta 120mm fan - I'm not joking the DELTA is that good! I also have 5 other Antec Fans on high in my case keeping a nice flow of cool air.

I'll download core temp and report back.

:D

how do I attach a Jpeg?

On core temp @3.6 under full load its reading

core 0 57o
core 1 56
core 2 52
core 3 52

not quite as good as before but still a massive improvement on what I had before I lapped and installed the DELTA and TRUE

Monkeeee, your sig seems to be missing a digit somewhere in your 3dmark06 score, either that or you have some serious issues!

Good temps you got there, what vCore do you run, I use 1.3v for the system in my sig and when priming temps can hit 75, measured using CoreTemp. My problem is the crap 80mm fan at the back of my case, take the side panel off and the temps quickly dip to around 60.

With a thermalright black 120 extreme with a quad at 3.4ghz my temps stay in the mid 50's,at load two fans on the cooler helps

nice temps and clock.. would work on trying to drop that vcore a little

Nice to see another person join the army of ever growing delta users *evil cackle*

I cant imagine how loud a Delta is, I have a Panaflow on my TRUE its meant to be 41.5db when shifting 115cfm, but I only run it at about 5-6v for normal use.

For comparison, mine at 3.6 using 1.425v

Core 0 66
Core 1 65
Core 2 60
Core 3 59

I wish all my cores were as cool as 2 and 3.
