Resuming from hibernation, hard drive not detected

I have a Hitachi 7k500 500GB SATA II hard drive as my boot drive and when I resume from hibernation, initially the BIOS doesn't detect it and I have to reset the PC. The second time it detects it and resumes from hibernation. It's as if it takes a while for the hard drive to power up and as a result the BIOS doesn't detected it initially when attempting to resume from hibernation.

Any ideas how to fix this?

This also happens from a cold boot. Anyone else experienced issues like this?

Ok, I fixed it by disabling quick boot in the BIOS and it gives the hard drive extra time to start up fully in order to be detected by the BIOS

EDIT: looks like it didn't work. Is my hard drive dying?

I have 2 other SATA II hard drives and they are detected fine upon first boot.
