It's indeed a very sad day for me today. I've decided to retire my trusty Abit NF7 after 10 years of loyal service I'll be removing her BIOS battery and putting her to rest in the loft. :(

This brings to me new beast, it's an e6400 dual core ! I've had one of these years back but for the love of life can't remember how much Vcore I put through it. This one on auto likes my 425 FSB yielding an oc of 3.4ghz on auto (stability untested)

To summarize on auto without any tweaking :

3.4ghz -> 1.39V (which I think is a tad bit high - 1.33V rings a bell but I can't remember)
2.13ghz (stock) -> 1.26V

What do you guys think and what do think are safe volts

Cheers

A few years ago for a long time I was running an Abit NF7-S 2.0, best motherboard ever.

Good luck with the E6400 I used to have one but the highest I went was 3.0Ghz at v1.35

Yeah thanks mate, fortunately I'm lucky with my motherboard in that it easily takes cpus to 425mhz FSB. I think I was running my last one at 3.2ghz (can't remember tbh)

Wish I could keep the nf7 going but it's on its last legs to be fair. Patched together with add-on PCI sata cards/ ide cards and God knows what so better put her out of her misery

Thanks for the note on Vcore - Cheers

I had an 2 6400 a couple of years ago.
Looking at some old notes. To achieve 3.4 stable I needed 1.45 set in the bios ( actual voltage going to the chip was 1.407 measured with my DMM)
