That's me all c&p'ed out. If your car isn't there - I probably just ignored it ;)

I cannot stress how much other cool metal turned up which I know others have taken pics of.

Well worth the mother of all arse-dragging-across-three-counties session.

This is what I don't get, how does a car like that make any show line up (be it just mates getting together or such). It doesn't even appear to be in good nick.

It's his daily driver while his nearly-mint silver mkII is given a mild-resto and a Zetec under the bonnet. :)

But why not take the decent power-outputting "mint" one to a Rolling Road day?

Because it's not finished? As I said - he's using it while he converts the silver one.

Why would you take the "not so mint" (but certainly doesn't seem too bad) daily driver?

To meet with friends with a likeminded interest and see what else turns up/runs?

Whats the deal with the poo coloured golf with red steelie and standard primer wing?

Not one I've seen before.

I *think* it's a satin black Golf with a rusty bonnet though.

And the red steel (15x6" Golf G60 one by the looks of things...) is an obvious nod to the hot rod fraternity.

LPS Dyno Shootout 2006

This is the biggest dyno shootout at LPS yet. Cars from Retro Rides, Oldskool, Capri Club, and the AHRA. Well done to Christian for a fantastic day and to LPS for having us all.

Should be able to get all the results soon to post up.

What are the popular options for a Metro? The Mrs has a J reg Metro and I'm sure she'll want to upgrade soon, and it's not worth getting rid of. I'd like to make a little project out of it for my own learning perposes. It's done naff all miles too, has a bit of body rust etc. Not mint but a good example. Seems a waste to throw it away when shes done with it.

Strip EVERYTHING out of it and fit a 1.8 K-Series, bigger brakes, 15" rims and sticky rubber.

Then, if you feel up to it, fit a supercharger ;)

Thats a very nice early Splitty. Really clean deluxe chrome work, just a shame is not a 23 window as its using the traditonal samba colours.

I thought they were brown over sealing wax red?

That's black over a generic red.
