Believe this or not but my parents haven't been to the cinema since "Crocodile Dundee" in 1986 I believe.

I don't want to just take them to any old film I'd really like them to appreciate the difference in 20+ years so I'd like it to be memorable.

I live near enough that an IMAX experience is easy enough, I'd like it to be a big-screen-worthy movie though. I did consider 2012 but am glad I didn't bother.

Recomendations for releases in early New Year?

One of the biggest films coming out this week and in IMAX 3d and you need to ask?

I think it was actually you who last went to the cinema in 1986...

So the question is, did some man hold you prisoner in there basement all this time or have you been gaming all this time in solace?

I go to the cinema sometimes and I don't know what movie you're talking about! :o

It would be quite appropriate to go and see Avatar as it's (hopefully) going to take the experience of going to the cinema to the next level. :)

Already been said by 2 posters above me.... Guess it was hard to spot without being completly obvious ;)

2012! :o

Oh how we all felt conned out of our time when we went to see that!

We went in to the screen around 10:30 and didn't leave until nearly 2AM!

I just wasn't expecting it to be that long. I would have checked usually but we were going to see something else that had just sold out.

Paranormal activity! May aswell trick them into thinking there has been no advancements in technology, give them another 25 years and take them again. They will be blown about by the tech in 25 years then!

I wouldn't bother. I went to the cinema at the weekend for the first time since I went to watch Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring when it first came out. The experience was totally ruined by a bunch of drunk teenagers acting like idiots at the back, which co-incidentally is the reason why I haven't been to the cinema since LotR:FotR.

christmas carol in 3d. absolutely amazing.

That film was enough to put my mum off ever going back to an IMAX! The 3D stuff is impressive but the film itself is awful.

Avatar is probably the best choice at the moment, judging by the trailers.

Really looking forward to Avatar myself. Praying Cameron delivers like he has done countless times before :)

Saw Law abiding citizen on Saturday, really good film...doubt your parents would be fussed though.

you can always get them to watch harry brown..then you can all exit the theatre and start looking for chavs to shoot at!!
