I bought some Tepe interdental brushes for my mum from the rainforest but her dentist told her she needs a different gauge brush, so I need to return these. As the package hasn't been opened, is it ok to mark it 'return to sender' and just stick it back in the letterbox, so I can be a cheapskate and save on return postage? Or, is that risky and it should be returned recorded delivery? It's only £12 of brushes.

Go online, you can return your order and you will get some labels to print and be given some return options.

Everything I've ever returned has just been a case of printing off a label and sticking it on the front of the package. Then either taking it to a Collect+ or the post office.

No but guys I want to put it back in the post with a Return to Sender and leave them to work out that it's supposed to be a return and ponder why I couldn't follow a really, really easy and free process which is plastered all over the website. It's just so unfair!

pro tip

if you bought item directly with rainforest, and want to return item for free, just say it has a fault.

certain returns are not free for reasons like changed mind or no longer want, therefore apply above.

Returning under DSR is free on Amazon I'm fairly sure?

Where's this collect+? I've done Amazon returns and got a screen with a barcode label saying "Print this return authorisation and include a copy in your return package. We need this to get your refund to you. "

Below that, a return address label with postage required.

"Print this mailing label and affix to your return package
You will need to pay for return postage costs."

So where's this free return postage?

Put it in the special post box marked "Bin" its completely free and you dont even need a label. The return is processed instantly but be aware that you probably wont get any refund. I think in your case this might be for the best.
