Sounds like that is the case, doesn't it?

It's a blessing in disguise ;)

(I don't really have that much against it but heyho, this is fun...)

The disc doesn’t explode after 3 installs, you just may have to contact EA to be able to keep using it.

As for using this as a reason to return, aren’t you meant to read the T&C’s and accept them before installing?

indeed. So if the OP tells the retail staff "ohh yeah its registered online" they will think he is chancing his arm.. if its installed then youve already accepted the agreement..

edit: OP why not sell it on the MM?

I find it hard to believe anyone has been enough of a numpty to use the EULA excuse in a shop.

If you installed spore you dont need the disk, which im sure the shop will be aware off. Zero chance of returning it id think unless you get some numpty behind the desk. You probably would get £15 as a trade in though.

cant you just return a game because you didnt like it? i've seen this guy return two album cds in HMV saying he didnt like them, but he blatently copied them first. He got away with it...

You used to be able to with one of the high street stores, but they cancelled that policy.

PC games are always harder to return/trade in. I tried to trade in Stalker the other week and was told i couldnt because it had a CD code on it.

Sell it on the MM, Hah!

He wants his money back, not half the price back :p

You know how some are on there!

Like every game in existence since 1998 and probably before.

I have yet to see anyone actually do this though. I have never read a 50 page long T&C before a game installs. Isn't really any need to imo.

Well indeed, nobody actually reads them just as people rarely read all the T&C’s when signing up for a bank account, that doesn’t mean you’re not bound to them though.
