its a common question but i would like some fitted now as im letting my g/f learn in my car ,ive done a search on google and ive not found any rover ones is there any?

after market ones would be ok but i want a good 4sensor one ive heared that cobra is good can anyone suggest a good one to have you get what you pay for so cheap ones are not a option

of course they have to be ones that you can colour code

Most after market ones on egay are fine. Be careful though as some supposed 'kits' just contain the sensors.

You need, sensors, loom, beeper in a kit

Learn to drive without too many driver aids. Bad idea IMO. If your half decent at supervising a learner driver, you won't let her hit anything.

but its a good idea to have sensors on cars because where i live is full of children who thinks its fun to hide behind cars then jump out, there has been some misshaps with children and cars

What's this, can't anyone look over their damn shoulder any more?

Tell her to turn her head round.

Run the kids down softly a few times. They will soon learn not to play with cars :p

I just hope the car she does her test in has sensors also then.

As to the ebay chinese ones, I have fitted a few and not had any issues with them so buying the name brand ones imho is a waste of money.

As long as you drive over children at 30 miles per hour there is 85% they will be just fine. It's 30 for a reason. Or so says the add. ;)
Seriously though, reversing sensors - best thing ever, it will be one of the best £30 you'll spend on auction site ever. Get ones with range that starts at least 0.30m (30cm from bumper), there is a lot of cheap junk out there that starts beeping solid at 0.5m, and we all know 0.5m in town is like a gap for another car almost.

Oh right, I always wondered how close they allow you to get to another car. Parking can be extremely tight around here and being able to get within half an inch of the car behind would be useful. :)

Oh well, their own stupid fault then.

Most people don't turn around when reversing anymore. Too much effort I think.

the cobra units are extremely good, but then i would say that ;) however i have used other kits and some of the them are as good, some are hopeless. i tended to find the ones with the screen (usually front and rear) were hopeless as the seem to false alarm all the time. the fitting is the same with all kits. the main advantage i find with the cobra units are that they tend to look more oem fit and they are easier to colour code if required. if you want a quick easy fit system have you thought of the meta system, you basically fit a frame where your rear numberplate fits with 2 sensors on it then the numberplate between. supposed to work fairly well and transferable. :)

Stop derailing the thread guys, he asked where to get and advice on reversing sensors, not whether he should get them or not

I've only had parking sensors on my BMW (about a month now) and they are fantastic, heartily recommend them :)

I believe as already recommended the Cobra sets will do the required job, just make sure the kit is complete.

the cobra sounds good then i did phone uplands up just to see how much they do them for he said he said roughly £250 thats the kit and installed

is there ony the cobra park master? as nothing else comes up when doing a search :)

yep your right and i bet most of the brand names are also made in china, most things are these days.
most brand names trade on people not knowing any better and just paying what ever price there quoted

of course i dont want to spend loads but on the other hand i dont want to buy cheap ones only to find they are not good at detecting things or stop working after a year or so
