Review - Saitek Eclipse III

Got mine today. Looks lovely :)

This is the first thing I've typed on it so far. I'm in a darkened room with the keyboard lit up. Feels weird, I keep looking down and feeling like my fingers are going to go between the keys :D

Nice and quiet action too. Recommended.

replaced eclipse II with this and the III is so much better. illumination is btter and remembers the colour, the II is blue everytime i turn pc in. much better for typing and keys have a good feel to them. mic and headphone jack is very handy. and it has a load quick launch biuttons and stuff on either edge of the keyboard. yes £40 is a lot but well worth it id say.

Just started looking around for a new keyboard, £37.94 inc VAT 'This Week Only Offer', does anyone have some decent pics? tryed the link posted above but its still dead. All google offers is a few tiny pictures :(

Right, quick update.

Ordered and had this delivered from OCUK (excellent delivery and packaging btw :)), installed it yesterday and immediately while gaming experiencing a complete system freeze. Nothing to do but reboot. The only new thing on my system is this keyboard.

OS is Vista x64. I am not sure if the USB Keyboard setting is enabled in BIOS but will have a look tonight.

Ok.I'm thinking of getting this keyboard..you guys still recommend it?

'Random Guy did you sort out your keyboard as I have Vista x64 too'?

Eek, didn't reply to the above! I finally got it sorted by uninstalling the driver that came with the keyboard. all funcitonoality was still working correctly as required.

I have a general question about this keyboard, so if any users can answer, or if anyone else knows the answer, I would greatly appreciate it: does the fact that I am connecting it to my souncard and using the headphone jack from it have any effect on the sound quality? i.e. does the audio pass-through affect the quality of the sound I will hear?
