I cant remember what it was called, but I have one fo the original OCZ SSD's which was a physical drive that attached to a seperate PCIE card rather than SATA (althouth the type of connection used escapes me currently)
These were stonking drives at the time and performed brilliantly - but compared to current drives Im not so sure.
I think the ones you are talking about have the actual drive physically mounted on the PCIE card, which I havent any experience of, but for a gaming pc / heat perspective I would keep any heat sources spread out as much as possible from graphics cards if I were you
