Revo pcie drives

I cant remember what it was called, but I have one fo the original OCZ SSD's which was a physical drive that attached to a seperate PCIE card rather than SATA (althouth the type of connection used escapes me currently)
These were stonking drives at the time and performed brilliantly - but compared to current drives Im not so sure.
I think the ones you are talking about have the actual drive physically mounted on the PCIE card, which I havent any experience of, but for a gaming pc / heat perspective I would keep any heat sources spread out as much as possible from graphics cards if I were you

Before installing the RevoDrive it is important to check the settings/capabilities on your motherboard. If you plan on using the RevoDrive as a boot drive please check that your motherboard supports boot over PCI-E, and note that due to limited option ROM space, it is often not possible to use the RevoDrive while the Onboard RAID Controller is enabled on many motherboards. Check with your motherboard manufacturer for the latest platform information and BIOS updates and refer to our Tested Motherboard Guide, or visit our support forums for more information regarding compatibility/installation
a freind has a combination drive in a laptop and hes says its unbeleivable quick but i guess thats slightly different

If you have to ask whether you need it, you probably don't.
Any SSD from the past 3 or so years will easily remove a normal users storage bottleneck for office/gaming tasks and thus they will all feel similar. If you're not running an enterprise level database or doing intensive Video work you wont actually see any benefit from a Revodrive.
