Ignoring seasons 3 and 4, season 1 and some may argue season 2 is some of the best TV ever made.

Schofield, Bellick, T-Bag and Mahone....fantastic characters!

Discuss!

I think it's a good example of a series that basically takes the sort of synopsis you'd expect to see in a movie and then expand it into a series or two, but the basic premise of the show - breaking out of a prison, and then trying to evade capture - only has so far it can go.

I'd agree that it had some good characters such as Bellick and T-Bag though. A prison drama is almost always going to be about characterisation and having a full series to work with gives a lot more scope to develop it than a movie does. Bellick is a good example, in most Prison dramas the guards are very predictable, either a hardnose baddie who bullies the inmates, or some sort of decent chap who tries to help them. Whereas Bellick develops throughout the show.

Think I may watch this over again when I get back. Loved it. I didnt even think 3 and 4 where that bad. Just didnt like the ending.

Been watching this since the american tv season finished. On season 3 now and it puts shows like Lost to shame.

However, I don't think you could watch the whole series more than twice.

For me Season 1 was the best television series i have ever watched, everything about it was perfect and so clever.

Like was said above, you can only be on the run for so long, in my opinion they should have made it a mximum of 2 series long and condensed it more.

I totally agree with you Peter,. T bag is absolutely hilarious. I enjoyed all 4 seasons. One of the few who did. Brilliant tv.

Season 1 was just so so so good. The rest of it was good to, but not a touch on 1. 3 was probably the next best series

Agreed season 1 was just immense and very clever, season 2 still good, but 3 and 4 went a bit haywire ;).

Having everyone reunited in Sona was sweet though.
