rewired network, now got probs!!!

No, I meant having it running parallel to electricity.

Apologies, I understand your point now, I'm just a bit frustrated with this guy. I agree this shouldn't be a problem, especially as the other cables will only be carrying low-voltage signals.

Did you test the wires before putting them in place?

How long are the wires?

What happens if you try running network set up with DCHP on at the router?

no wires where not tested before hand as the cables had to be termianted on the other side of the wall. the wires are about 20 meters each

nope, I can't take any credit here,
you already pointed out the problem in the very first answer to the OP.

If he wants to ignore you and worse, ignore the informative link you kindly posted then that's his misfortune :-/

im not ignoring the fact that they need to be rewired the correct way, but it doesnt defeat the point that i have no crimp ends left, and i did view the link. sorry if i came accross that way but at no point was i being ignorant or arrogant.

just dawned on me that this may also cause problems:

on the wall that you see the 2 cables running along before going up the drain pipe, behind it is this lot:

the modem and router have been in here when i had the old setup but the cables never ran along the wall behind the electric cupboard

umm,
on the one hand I'm irked that you continued to follow up on a unlikely main interference issue when the solution was posted in the first answer.

on the other hand I did intend deleting my post this morning but you beat me to it. I recognise that I'm more fed up with life than usual and I'm probably taking it out on you.

I should have done the right thing and just left the thread,
so I apologise

.
