Its progressing but all the small stuff takes forever, for instance I have at least 12 hrs in the door mirrors!
The mirrors were one thing that was stopping door assembly, after mucho thought I decided that Vitaloni California mirrors would be the choice, I was going to set them up on the car and then smooth them making the mirror one piece but when I got the passenger one in place I couldn't see naff all out of it
Plus they adjust by pushing the mirror glass so they were rejected. Since mid Aug I have been walking to and from work in a bid to keep fit and during the walk (6 miles) I've spent most time looking at pretty well every car and couldn't find anything off a modern car that was door mounted that looked close except for a Fiat 500, so I bought one off ebay and was astonished how big they are!! (see pic)
I then started wondering if door mirrors that were fitted on the door frame (in the corner of the glass) could be adapted so I bought some early Rover 75 mirrors (nicknamed bullet mirrors due to their shape) and got the saw out...
I'm well pleased with the look and above all they work fine, they also power fold!! :content:
Here's some other pics of progress..
2010 Focus Seat belts for the front with 1998 Saxo rears, Firenzas had static belts in the front and no rears!
I'm going for 'J' Hook grooves on the discs..
New 5ch amp..
No rear screen rubbers are available so I bought a length of extrusion and made my own..
