Reyland Mondeo - Reborn!

The car belongs to Martin who owns Reyland. I'm a friend of his.

All the work on the car is done by Martin :cool:

Slightly O/T - Whats the latest on the Cossie? It went **** up in the Gumball then I don't know what's happened to it. I seem to remember reading something but can't remember sorry.

the escort cossie that was crashed in the gumball has been replaced with another, even wilder one:)

I don't quite think it was '94 because that car is on an N plate, but still it's an awesome car, a 512hp 4wd mk1 mondeo which looks like its straight out of the local council estate would most certainly give you the element of surprise :D
 
Yea, probably more like 98/99 given the T plate cars in the Clarkson thingy plus the fact you wouldn't buy a brand new fresh off the line Mondeo to do that to becuase there would be little point.
 
Aww, love the car but I think the paint job would benefit from similar styling to the Escort.
Still, subscribing to this thread :)
 
I've seen this car a few times and it's blisteringly fast. My face was the citrine yellow Escort Cosworth though, that thing looked like it had been fired out of a catapult when it took off.

The new escort has had all the teething problems sorted and had done numerous track days. It's now been mapped to 2.4 bar boost. No official times for it yet but watch this space!

The build was started in '94 and by the time the car was completed it was registered on a n plate.

I'm not that keen on the colour either but since the car was originally painted green everywhere:- boot/bonnet/underneath/arches etc a colour change would have been too much work.

For some reason I read the title as Leyland Montego and thought who the hell would want to revive one of these :)

It was a brand new shell thou.
 
wasn't there a Reyland Focus too, i'm sure i've got a clip white monster power focus making a lot of tyre smoke - way before the ST and even the RS existed.
