rFactor

From a video it was very hard to tell the difference :p LFS just feels weak to me dont know what it is, maybe its a lack of tracks or the way its always Beta.
alpha, actually :p . you have to admire though that its more stable and better to play than games that are final and cost about 40 quid.

yeah the lack of tracks is starting to hurt a bit, needs another 1 or 2 decent ones. Rfactor wins on tracks easily.

It wouldn't be so bad if the public servers didn't run the same combo all the time. I think the STCC servers are good at rotating their circuits though.

I'm a bit sick of hearing that LFS is still an Alpha build, you could stick that tag on any game couldn't you that is still having patches done for it .

If it was free then that would be ok but it's a commercial product.

LFS does have very good suspension physics and tyre deformation though.

My current favourite for realistic racing nuttiness is netkar pro. Buggy as hell, but the driving model is superb.

Wow, that really shows off the physics modelling - being able to see the tyres move around on the rims is really quite something.

Makes me want to rush home and play it!

Ive been a live for speed user for many many years and refused to use rfactor, however sick to death of the same old cars i decided to buy rfactor! I know live for speed seems a bit more relistic but rfactor is way more fun!!! What can be more fun than blasting round the countryside in a mclaren f1 on the Lienz track in the dark! I think the biggest let down on LFS is the sound. I think the creators should focus on cleaning the graphics and sound up before they fix tiny details such as tyre deformation.

The tyre deformation is a key part of the tyre physics and is not a tiny detail. I'm glad they are getting important things like this done and not concentrating on the graphics or sound, which don't change how the game plays anyway.

As of a recent patch, you can create your own sounds using an in-game editor. DaveWS on LFS Forums has created a pack which most people use nowadays.

It's Alpha because the content isn't final yet.

I've had LFS eversince S2 came out but could never use if for more than a couple of hours because of problems with the FF but after getting the G25 Wheel I've been able to play it a little more but it still dosn't quite feel as good as rFactor or GTL. I carn't see to find the consistency I get in GTL and rFactor.
