No idea about the resistance

I don't have a voltmeter or multimeter to check!
Is there a simpler way to check the pots resistance? may be connecting a LED and seeing the intensity of the light?

Umm no I don't think that will work out too well. How would you know on what to base your comparison?

I'd probably just go with some Pots off the auction site, you can get 5 Pots for about £3 if you are willing to wait for postage from Thailand. You could also grab some 4k7 (4.7k which is close enough to 5k) for 99p each from a well known national electronics component stockist which is a competitor to OcUK for some of their goods so I won't mention them. The cheapest Pots on there have a round shaft for direct control without needing to spend more cash on fnacy knobs. While you are down there get yourself a multimeter, they are really useful bits of kit for use around the home.

oh didnt see that in the bay. I can wait! I am bit swamped with lot of other stuff any way and I have to put my 6970 under water as well.

I can get the LM317T but will take around 4-5 days. I will get some ordered up tonight anyway! What wattage are the required resistors? I do stock all the E12 0.25W, and limited values of 0.5W and 1W.

Oooo wattage of the resisters????? :confused:

????? I know they should be 240 ohm!
Did i mention i am a noob for electronics, and only doing this coz I hate LEDs in the fan controllers?

So let me ask you as you are the expert, what wattage the resisters should be for 240ohm? I am gona control fans which are rated at 1.2 W, 0.1A @12V

Edit: ok I think I got it. Closest I can find is "220R 220 Ohms 0.25W Carbon Film Resistor"

1/4 watt will be just fine.
