'Rich Privilege'

What are you getting at with this question? and yes, I and many others here have, and call some of them our friends.
My school had a 73% GCSE faliure rate, and comes in near the bottom of the deprevation tables, I know plenty of poor people.

I was aiming the question at Robgmun and Balky, who seem to have a very straightforward view of what a poor person is.

Not as black and white as that I'm afraid. We work in a very small market.
But one that needs constant managing.

Not everyone works in an office

An orchestra needs a conductor. Does that mean the musicians are no good

I think it's only not black and white because you are choosing not to see it that way. Maybe that small market ought to be larger, there are other conductors in the world.

Take the time to spend with your family.

As a side note, if you object to the above: You see workers not being good or bad as not B&W issue, but somehow the poor are poor because they fritter their money away and don't understand the value of money is a B&W issue?

I bet if you look into every case of people being in 'relative poverty' the majority, or atleast a significant amount would be down to life choices (drugs/ not trying hard at school/ being lazy/ etc.)... harsh as that is they have made their bed.

That's the second comment i have picked up on the so called not trying at school, have you ever wondered some people can not progress with education through one way or another does not mean there was no effort put in, again far to many on these forums tarnish people who didn't do well at school are classed as a waste of space, do you know how pathetic you all sound, i would love to meet people like you in real life and show you how you give respect.

I take it the rolleyes means you don't think a bank lending you money is help either

I don't think bank lending would fall under most people's idea of help.

When I take out a bank loan, I buy a product (loan) which I pay a monthly/quarter/annual fee (interest) for.

I don't get help from the bank in the same sense that I don't help Tesco by shopping there...

Mine cost at least £60000 less than that and I'm still paying a mortgage you don't have to Buy it out right you know

In the context of my reply. Which was about "why don't you buy a house you can afford"

If you can't afford to buy it outright then you can't afford to buy a house.
You need to borrow money from somewhere.

A mortgage is a loan to buy something you can't afford to buy with your own money

I was with you up until that point. Keyboard warrior mode never helped anyone :D.

You're right on the rest of it though. Some of the richest people in our time failed at school.

Doesn't mean its not help though.

Success in academia is a somewhat flawed tool for measuring a persons worth and usefulness.

But unfortunately, the government think differently and sadly so do many other people.

Maybe I should have phrased it as, "mortgage you can afford".

Anyway who cares, you knew what I meant.

I didn't to be honest as they are getting a mortgage they can afford. So i don't understand what you were trying to get at. Under the new lending rules it would be pretty hard to get a mortgage they couldn't afford

Well thanks for the half part of thinking i do alright lol

I'm sure 99% of the people on here with extreme opinions would rarely if ever make them known outside of this 'anonymous' forum.

I'm sure beating someone up isn't either Giving respect nor showing how you give respect. Surely thats just either showing someone your a tool who is better at fighting or showing someone that respect means your harder than the next guy.

I respect my mum. But I'm pretty sure in a fight I'd win:D
